I played Fallout 3 earlier but only had it for a week, I got it for a late Christmas Present and I am loving it! So far I have two things to share...
Recon Armor: This you can get pretty early in the game actually, but you MUST do this in the following order (I cant get it any other way) Once you go to the GNR building (part of the main quest once you beat the giant super mutant) go DIRECTLY to Three Dog, talk to him, and save. Now go back to the inside entrance to GNR where the Brotherhood of Steel knights are (THIS IS INSIDE THE GNR BUILDING) go down the stairs and go right, you should come to a few rooms and a hallway, one of the rooms is a bathroom, the other is a lounge with a vending machine, table, lockers and whatnot. Now head over to the lockers, most of them should be empty, but one should not, open it up and BINGO! Recon armor and Recon Helmet! Note: If the Recon armor isnt in the locker (for me it was knifes and mines) just load the game back up and repeat until you get it! This armor ups your sneak by 25 points!
Bethesda Ruins: I count this as an easter egg, also a good way to get some good weapons and ammo early in the game. And the lockpick bobble head is found here to! Travel I started from Vault 101, I actually stumbled upon the Ruins when I first played! On your map there is a large broken Road/Bridge that you can see, (It looks like a big road on your map) Follow this, you will eventually cross the river, (watch out for radiation) if you continue to follow the road you will end up in a city, you know your close when you see a bunch of raiders, there will be a sniper in a building, YOU ARE CLOSE! Kill the raiders, and you should get the message that you found the Ruins! I go in through the East side, its easier I think. You can find the Flamethrower, Shotguns, pistol amo, and more!
